Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Addison Niday grew up surrounded by soda bottling history, vintage advertisements & antique treasures. Raised in a family that is deeply connected to the soda bottling industry, his appreciation for soda advertising and old-school craftsmanship started early and only grew deeper over time. At 9 years old, after seeing a hand-painted Coca-Cola mural in Clarksville, Indiana he became fascinated by the artistry behind large painted advertisements, traditional lettering, and mural work. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for painting, design, and preserving the timeless character of handmade advertising through his own creative work today.
Savedtype was founded by Addison Niday in 2014, starting as a weekend hobby creating chalkboards and menus while working a full-time job. That small creative outlet turned into restoration work when he was asked to repair a faded sign above a local business, his first experience working with vintage advertising at scale.
As demand grew, Addison began restoring antique signs and family heirlooms, eventually leaving his job to pursue this work full time.
A major turning point in his career came when Addison restored a faded Coca-Cola mural, which gained national attention and brought in restoration requests from across the United States. He was later approached by Augusta Coca-Cola Bottling Company United for additional work, expanding his presence within the bottling and advertising world.
In 2020, Addison created the name Savedtype and with support from Augusta Coca-Cola, built it into a brand focused on handmade signage to help other businesses stand out from mass produced advertisments. Since the beginning of this brand, we have had the great honor of working with massive brands like Coca-Cola, The Ford Motor Company, Manus Engineering, Borden's Dairy Products, Riverside Refreshments, Old Navy Retailers & more that continues to grow everyday & would be very excited to add your brand, business or space to that growing list.
